It's mind boggling that each piece of these mosaics is chisled and placed individualy by hand, upside down. The level of detail is outstanding, and although there are common motifs, every pattern is unique! 

FRESH SQUEEZED VERNACULAR

Wandering (and getting a bit lost) in the Medinas was always fun. Everytime we turned the corner, interesting handicrafts as well as local shops jumpred out. I love the bright pop of the orange stands!

CASABLANCA: FRESH START

We began our journey in Casablanca. Although the city takes some getting used to, the mosque (the only one open to non Muslims) was quite the eye opener. The craft and detail of the mosacis - as well as the enormous scale of the pieces - made for a powerful beginning.
