MARRAKECH: LA MAMOUNIA
No trip to Marrakech would be complete without at least savoring a cappuccino in the lush garden of the Mamounia. Yes, a panini will set you back $40, but the exquisite courtyard setting makes up for the gulp inducing price. Enjoying the fabled history and the gorgeous renovation, mingling with the elite and beautiful, relaxing on the deep seated couches and strolling along the verdant paths is a fine respite to the bustling city!
According to hotels.com, "Marrakech’s famed La Mamounia Hotel has recently reopened to show off its new look. Its palm and olive tree garden is still there, but the $176 million renovations went to the Art Deco and Moorish-style rooms, as well as the spa and restaurants. The shaded courtyards with colorful tiles provide space for even more relaxation, as does the large swimming pool overlooked by sculptures on the walls. As a fine example of Moroccan art and craftsmanship, many consider this hotel to be a national monument."
