MOROCCO: ANTIQUE SHOPPING
Although the month of Morocco is coming to a end, I still have so many inspiring photos to share! Marrakech is definitely a shopper's paradise, and everything is incredibly intricate and beatifully designed. These doors welcomes us into La Mamounia and the vases were found in an antique shop in the Medina.
I just started reading Maryam Montagues's fabulous new book Marrakech by Design and appreciate learning more about Morocco's decorative styles. According to Maryam, "Whether old or new, magical or not, Moroccan decor has one distinctive trait: the commitment to the handmade. Moroccan style is attainable and exotic, practical and mysterious and a little splash of it goes a long way. The old city, or medina, is extensive and is bursting with beautiful things to look at, touch and buy. Surfaces are richly decorated, patterns abound and color is everywhere."
