ARTIST PROFILE: SABLE & SNOW
I feel very fortunate for working with super talented artists, whether in my current job or through this blog. I met Katie of Sable & Snow at Unique LA last year, and immediately loved the fresh, colorful style. I am happy to share a bit more about the group's history and design process.

Who They Are: The three designers met while studying graphic design at San Diego State University. After graduation, the trio went on to peruse various projects, but ultimately found their way and their passion by opening a stationery company together. Their infatuation with pattern, illustration and design combined with their shared belief in ethical production make them a great team. The designers all felt strongly about making the products locally in San Diego, each assembled by hand in their studio. Today, Sable & Snow is creating greeting cards, journals and wedding invitations that delight the eye. Recently the designers have been working hard creating a new line of wedding suites that will be launched in the next few months. The new suites are inspired by their travels, the places they live and love, and their favorite bits of nature.
About Greeting Cards: In an age of increasing technology, high-tech gadgets and fast paced lifestyles there is something inherently special about the act of giving someone a card. Whether it shows up as a surprise in their mailbox or given in person, it brings a smile to someone you care about. Taking the time and effort to pick out a card that means something is a symbol that you remember and care about them.
About the name Sable & Snow: The name Sable & Snow stems from the belief that all good design begins with a simple black and white sketch. Sable represents the word black and snow symbolizes white. The trio wanted the name to show the sense of balance and unity they strive to bring into the work and also allude to the foundation of good design—starting simple, and growing from there.
