ICFF: ESKAYEL
One of my favorite booths at ICFF had a distinct, handmade style. Most of the pieces at the Contemporary Furniture Fair are clean and modern, but the Eskayel wall coverings have a life of their own. The fluid watercolors flow into organic patterns, creating textured wall coverings that look as soft as fabric. Most of the products I photographed at ICFF were wall coverings, rather than any the cool, sleek furniture. Check out the dimensional, brightly colored wall sculptures by Anne Kyyro Quinn featured on BigBrightBold here.
According to their website, Eskayel was founded in 2008 by artist and designer Shanan Campanaro. The Central St Martin’s graduate worked in both graphic design and fashion, but subsequently became more interested in interiors as a platform to transform one's mood. Having lived and traveled around the world , the importance of building an environment of true self expression and comfort became a huge priority. Eskayel turned that passion into wallpaper. Now with her partner Nick Chacona, Shanan continues to bring innovative, luxurious, and beautiful products into the market.
